I'm going to do a pre-holiday 12 days of anti-xmas behind the music stories for some tracks from the catalogue. I very much enjoy folk to takeaway their own vibe or meaning from things but sometimes the circumstance around a track is a fun surprise.

the second entry in the 12 days of oontzmas from the massive QUADRANTS project. this was a 16 track album, a couple remix singles, and 4 EPs of four tracks each themed to one of a classic human temperaments and each using only sound source mangled from each corresponding quadrants of the main album. There was also some written material and visuals in a very diy booklet. This project actually saved my life. I had been going thru some misdiagnoses and things with what has come to be my disability. working with some old mates for spoken word, sound source and the visuals I funnelled a whole lot of pain and anger and darkness into the whole series and it stands as a proud monument to survival.

the SANGUINE EP is a beats orientated release that used only sound source from the first quadrant of track on the QUADRANTS album, albeit heavily altered and mangled to create very new compositions. It is in the parlance of Ralph Wiggum unpossible to choose a favourite on this EP, but “citta” is probably in the running. highly recommend headphones or massive hi-fi. The daunting collision of impending doom and weirdly uplifting beauty almost feels a trap. it is a trap.

Urged to seek short-term physical gratification as pain relief, stuck in cycles of pain, we replicate pain as pain relief. We all have our sirens.

Are you a bystander, a cause or a solution? What happens when the unknown becomes constant and the hyper awareness becomes truly horrible. The stories of four explores the cloudy line between memory, premonition and action through a state of being that does not allow clarity but does allow us to be haunted by the simplest things or the most complex. A number, a noise, or the occasional spark of humanity linking us to our brothers and sisters in solidarity or torture, whether overt or complacent...

Some doors you open, some are slammed in your face, others you are pushed through. Which do you choose? Welcome to the four.
